The mission of the Marshfield Core Laboratories (MCOR) is to provide high quality research design and laboratory service support to Marshfield Clinic and ICTR members. ICTR members are able to obtain research and clinical laboratory services at the same cost as Marshfield Clinic investigators.

Core laboratory services are provided through the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation Core (MCRFC) and Marshfield Clinic Laboratories Core (MCLC).

Core laboratory staff maintain proficiencies in microbiology, virology, cell culture, molecular biology, DNA sequencing, genotyping (Affymetrix and Sequenom platforms), and can assist with new assay development for specific research applications. High containment (BSL3) facilities are housed within the MCRFC. MCRFC also provides biological specimen banking services for the 20,000 individual Personalized Medicine Research Project cohort (Marshfield Clinic). Additional information about the MCRFC is available here.
